At Omega, we realize that poor quality is the biggest deterrent to long-term partnership and mutual success. We are committed to doing it right the first time. This means a total commitment at every level in the organization to exceed your quality expectations through continuous improvement and the use of proven quality methods.

Here are a few of the tools in our quality toolbox we use to achieve this goal:

• SPC methods and controls
Statistical analysis is a crucial tool in controlling the extrusion process and ensuring consistent quality. Many of our customers have been able to eliminate incoming inspection and rely on collected data from the production run to support their quality efforts.

• Capability studies
In critical applications, capability studies can be performed to identify process variation in comparison to dimensional expectations.

• Fit and function analysis
Understanding how an extrusion fits with its mating parts and functions in the end product is paramount to consistent production and quality. Many times, on-line fit and function analysis is more important than the measurement of multiple dimensions. In reality, a product can often measure "in spec" and still not fit or function as originally intended. Whenever applicable, Omega uses fit and function analysis in conjunction with measured dimensions to ensure our customers receive quality extrusions that perform as intended.

• Go/No Go gauges
Where applicable, Omega makes use of Go/No Go gauges to measure critical dimensions to improve consistency and lessen the chance for operator error.

• Process control equipment
To control critical tolerance dimensions, Omega uses optical/laser technology that links to the extruder. Automatic adjustments are made to the manufacturing process based on optical readings to control product variation and provide consistent quality.

• Routine operator checks and sample retains
Omega trains and holds its operational management, line operators, and helpers ultimately responsible for product quality. This communicates knowledge of customer expectations and increased awareness at every level. Operators routinely check dimensions and fit requirements during a production run and retain samples. Sample retains are reviewed by operational management and held for reference.

• Complete product traceability by production date, carton, and operator
Every production run is fully traceable by production date / lot#, individual carton number, and operator initials.
